Drove mine for a year first, then decided to do the anti-venom mod. Went with one washer and am very happy with its action now.

If you don't like the one-washer Anti-Venom treatment, you can use 2 washers to get the detents to feel even smoother. I was almost tempted to use 3, but 2's pretty damn good. Getting into reverse is still ~80%-20% with 2 washers, and who cares about quick (and butter-smooth) changes to reverse?
