On any of my vehicles when I do a cold start, I'll let the engine run for maybe 15-30 seconds before driving. That's all that's needed to get oil flowing thru the engine. But I do drive fairly easily and slowly for the first mile or so and I don't get on the throttle hard until oil temps are at 150 or higher.
My DD Silverado pickup sits outside so if the temps are below freezing and the windshield is iced over, I'll use the autostart feature and let the engine run for about 6-8 minutes. Autostart also runs the defroster on the HIGH setting, turns on the mirror and rear window defoggers, and turns the heated seats on.
I start mine and it idles about 15 to 20 seconds while I adjust my sun glasses and then GO......... But I don't go WOT until oil temp is above 150. Mine is an every day driver and not just a track car.
Exactly what I do as well. I don't like to let it sit there and idle for a long time.. I just verify good oil pressure and that everything else looks good before I take off.
In most cases, 15 - 30 seconds is plenty...just want to get the oil to all the right places before you start putting a load on the engine. I keep the rpm's below 3k and no more than 1/2 throttle until engine is up to OT, then have at it!
This is how I handle both my collector cars (summer) and DD (year round). When we have temps below zero, I will tend to let it run a little longer (60 seconds or so) before driving away.
Wow...you guys like having intercourse without foreplay or what?! Personally I give it a few minutes-4 -5 usually. My car sits regularly 2-3 weeks between rides during driving seasons. During the winter months it may be 4-6 weeks between starts. I check my fluid levels, crank it, let it run and warm up. Walk around check for leaks and air pressures every so often then put it gear and go
go

I start it up, then drive it immediately. I just drive very slowly at the beginning, shifting early. No need to let it sit and idle, just wastes gas IMO.
I wait a few minutes in warm weather, longer in cold
my fist couple new vehicles I just use to start and grab the gear and go, they both puffed blue smoke on start up after about 20k, since i started to let cars warm up a few minutes my car don't do that any more
I let my zo6 warm up for 5 minutes before I drive it
I let mine idle until the oil temp is 100 degrees, which in Florida doesn't take long. Both of my Corvettes and my Camaro ZL1 sit for weeks between drives, so want to be sure oil is everywhere it's supposed to be before I load the engine. Just me.
