I'm looking at building a stroker motor and wondering which block to use? I've got an 03 Z06 that it's going in. My current thought is an ls3. In the ls6 an 1 I believe I'd have to sleeve them to get a 4.00 plus bore. Are there ant streigth issues or reasons not to go with a ls3? I'd like to be around 416 CID at the end. The cars not a drag car and at may go to the track but rarely. I'm looking to push some fairly good hp and most likely will end up with some sort of forced induction.
I have decided when I have the $$ the LS7 block is the way to go (not forced induction) yes it costs more than a LS3 block, however it's is already bored and torque plated honed, I don't thin the LS3 is torque plate honed, how much would that cost to have done?
Also, all the $$ to put a engine together, why not spend a little more.
Seems I read forced induction and stroking can cause wear issues?

I'm not quite sure on this but I thought I'd read that the cost of putting an ls7 in a c5 was very expensive? Dimensionally I don't believe it's the same as the other ls blocks?
You may be thinking of the LS7 crate engine, and having to use the external dry sump oil tank.
If you build a engine from block, you should be able to make it a regular wet sump, and eliminate the external tank.
LS7 crate engine and tank and lines are about 15K, then you need some electronic adapters and a box to talk to your old 24 tooth computer and 58 tooth reluctor wheel.

You got it! I quick looked it up to refresh my memory. I probably will supercharge the ls6 but really want long term a torque monster and something built to last.
