How many miles on your vette before you started engine mods
For all those out there that did either a heads, cam, prochargers, nitrous, and any other mod how many miles was on your engine when you modded. Are there any out there that turbo charged a engine with say 80,000 miles on it without a rebuild ? How strong are these ls engines we will just call it corvette confessions. For give me father for I have sinned I have not done any of these mods so I can't help this thread lol
Purchased my C5 at 120k and it now has around 123k. It already had a Corsa catback and a cold air intake on it. I installed an ATI 10% under drive pulley and an elite engineering oil catch can so far. I've been working on suspension mods... Anywho... I'll be throwing a set of headers and a heads/cam setup with a fast manifold before too long.
My mentality: Use it until it busts! Then rebuild.
My mods so far are bbk under drive pulley my stock one had the wobbles at 80k got air intake x pipe and ti cat back, anti venom mod, looking for a set of headers with intake and ls2 throttle body 243 heads and maybe a cam I like the build after you blow it way of thinking
I supercharged mine at a little over 80k miles. I have about 94k miles now. Still running like a champ, 488whp. Didnt even own it a year and I did that.
Sounds like they hold mods good with miles on them I think this will help others with doubts about making modifications to a higher mile engine.
It all depends on how it is cared for and how good the tune is on it. They are very strong motors though! And when it does go out... Rebuild it or swap it out!
