bearing hub replacement
getting ready to replace the left front bearing hub on my 97, I have seen one utube video and it shows them removing the tie rod and lower ball joint from the spindle. I can see I need to lower the ball joint bolt about half an inch to have access to the T-55 bolt, but why remove the tie rod end?

By removing the tie rod, you have more room to work on the lower Torx bolt. Without removing it you will need to crank the wheel all the way to the right to gain the access. Since the tie rod was very easy to remove and put back in, I did it that way when I replace both bearings last weekend. The spindle will rotate 180 degrees that way.
