c5 windows

How can you fix loose windows on a c5 convertible

Pull your door pad and tighten the window track bolts. Mine would loosen up about every 2 years since I bought it new in 2001. The last time it happened I took the nuts off installed a flat washer against the door, then a star washer, then the nut. The nuts haven't came loose and my windows haven't rattled for the last 3 years. The reason for the flat washer is so the star washer doesn't eat into the door shell. Hope this helps

Cool thanks I have to replace the door panels anyway so that should give me full access to these bolts then

Thank you for sharing this. I have the same issue. Just a question before starting the job: what size star washer you use and what is the bolt size (e.g. M8).
