I'm in the middle of the process now, and I have managed to install the brackets and one rod on the upper passenger side. I have done this in accordance with the provided instructions which don't say to remove the cradle. All I can say is that it has been hell up to this point getting tools and hands to fit up in those tight spaces. It can be done with the cradle in place, but the right side exhaust has to be loosen and moved around as you work the right side. In order to remove the exhaust completely, you'll have to jack the car about 3 feet off the ground, and working with jack stands makes this a little risky.
Again, while it is doable as I and many others have proven, this is a job that is worth paying a pro with a lift to do. They would have it done in about two hours and well worth $250.00 for installation.
The written instructions are OK, but their pictures suck and you can't tell what's what. That's something that could be easily fixed by them. The product looks really good and the customer service couldn't be any better. I spoke with Jason who was very helpful and answered all my questions, so no issues with the company. The instructions also say that it will take 4 to 5 hours to complete. I already have 5 hours in it and need at least 2 to 3 more off jack stands. I'm no expert on Corvettes, but I have been turning wrenches non stop since I was a kid and I'm 52 now, so I feel qualified to do this install. This installation would take about 25 minutes if the trans was on a bench, and that's the way it should be explained. Best of luck.
By the way, if you're going to spend the money for the brace, this would be the time to buy their transmission mount since you'll have everything apart to do the install.
