How long before the 1/4 mile?
I'm brand new to this Vette thing. How many miles should I brake in the new 2002 Coupe 6 spd., before putting it through the 1/4 mile run? What kind of times should I expect at this altitude. (Bandimere Speedway 6000 ft. or so.)

Sources vary, but I hear 500 miles minimum is a good number. :yesnod:
6000-feet huh? Well, you won't have a 'Sammy Sosa' kinda day at
the strip. That elevation kills track times. Upper 13's at best.
Good luck

I would say from the showroom floor, The C5 has fuzzy logic, meaning the computer will learn your driving style (aggressive or girlish). Beat on it from day one, change your oil @ 2k and enjoy the car. On a stock C5 6 speed I would guess 13.8 @103 in denver. Exhaust and intake will wake you car to a low 13.

Does a C5 realy run in the 13's at that altitude? What are other guys at that altitude running?
As for the break-in, I'd give it at the bare minimum 500 miles. Sorry, but I can't see beating a $50,000 car from day one.

I waited until 1500 miles until I hit the track. I'd say after 500 go for it and good luck!

The altitude in Denver (Bandimere) raises ET by around 1 sec on average. C5s running 14s are not rare. :(

Re: How long before the 1/4 mile? (NoMercy)
I ran a 14.1@102mph at Bandimere. I have a few minor bolt ons like exhaust and air intake. I will be running in club clash there if you are interested. It is in Sept
