Default Valve seal placement question

On a 2003 LS6 motor, passenger side, is the exhaust valve for each cylinder closest to the front of the car or rear?

they are different colors first off. i THINK intakes are the black ones and exhaust the brown, at any rate just replace with the same color

second off you can look straight down from the valve and see where it lines up. on an exhaust runner or intake

3rd you could google a picture of a 243 head and look if you could not perform 1 or 2

Thanks Racebum. Intake seals are black and exhaust seals are a reddish color. I was replacing my valve springs today and had the old springs and seals off #8 on the passenger side. It was the first one I was working on, so I didn't have any other springs off on the passenger side yet for reference. On the drivers side, the black valve seal was towards the front of the car (left side of head) and the red towards the back (right side of head)

When I lined up the old parts on a table for reference while doing the passenger side, I stupidly picked up the old seals I had laid out and tossed them away before I remembered which color goes where. Since it was my first replacement on the passenger side, I had nothing to check against. I know the driver side is black seal on left(or front of car) and red seal on right (back of car), so it seems like it would be the same on the passenger side but reversed (red towards the front and black towards the back) I think I did it correctly, I'm just looking for a sanity check because I understand that the intake & exhaust seals have different temperature ranges.

Looks like the first valve is exhaust.
