It's been really hot here in the northeast, averaging about 95 for the 3-4 days. My car outside temperature gauge displays anywhere from 103 to 106! Can this be correct? I suspect that it might be the road temperature or affected by the engine temperature.
In the summer I have seen 131 on mine when it has been sitting in the parking lot all day. Right now it reads about 3-4 degrees over the outside temp (per the radio). Its got to be the black top putting out the heat. :reddevil :yesnod:

I've seen 100-101F when the air temp is 97F. Hot road surface or sitting in traffic with no air movement will influence the readout. Don't need that thing to tell me it's hot in the vert :D
