Side question. How long have you had the car and have you driven it before in warmer (hot?) weather?
yes the passenger side fan comes on and stays on.. the drivers side does not..

had the car since 2004,, yes have had it in Miami and at the track every weekend..

Electrical experimentation can become costly in a big hurry.

But if we could get someone with a 98 to give us a picture of their fuse box and the relays were in the same orientation as on the 99, I would reconsider. Unlikely that within a model year that the fuse box wiring would have been changed. Not impossible but unlikely.
I agree!! I can post it up for anyone with a 98. BTW I really appreciate u taking time out of your weekend to help out..

I just posted that because there was some concern if there was a difference... according to the fuse box they sell to the public it's the same... you have a picture of a buddies for comparison on orientation of the relays... according to this fuse boxes are the same...and by your buddies fuse box... the relays in question are in the WRONG orientation.

Plus for whatever it's worth .... every pic I've seen has the little dog ear on the relay facing the fender like the ONE you have that you haven't changed and NOT like the other two you replaced... just sayin...
To me the evidence is mounting that those two are in the WRONG orientation..

Based on the picture you just emailed and the picture from your friends 99 above, it looks to me like your relays are installed wrong. I am comfortable suggesting that you turn the two relays in question, 43 and 45, 180 degrees so that the cut corners face the fuse box. Post back how the fans operate when you have given them a try.
Will do!! I will let you know

I'm not totally convinced that the cooling system does not have air trapped in it. Please look through the above thread and if you have time please use the procedure described to insure that all air is bled out of the system. Let me know if you have questions about using this procedure.
Ok, I will also check this afternoon.
thx

Of course you can try just the rubber tube and see if air followed by coolant flows out.

Either way let if flow as you can easily add several ounces of distilled water or 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water to the surge tank when you are done to bring the coolant to the proper level..

This is NOT going to solve the issue with the fan operation but I think the car is running way to hot and I think it is because of trapped air.
Ok..I will remove fill tank cap, then I will just crack the drivers side bolt. thx!!

Well i loosned the drivers bolt and it took about a min. then coolant came streaming out.. same thing for the passenger side.. (did not hear any air releasing) but u figure there had to be some in there for it to take a min. to flow coolant. So i test drove it and it seemed it took longer to over heat, but it still did..260 then I shut it down. Man I dont see what else to possibly try! There has got to be something going on with that fan not coming on.. say a rodent(rat) did chew through something,, how would i ever be able to tell? Should I take it to the dealer and have them check it at this point?
