whistling noise
I just installed bbk intake manifold and bbk 80mm throttle body last night. I had this setup on an old 99 camaro and loved it so figured I'd give it a shot on my new car ('98 m6). I did the throttle body bypass mod since the coolant hoses were giving me a problem with the install.
I did this last night and let the car sit over night. Before work, this morning I put on a K&N air filter on the stock air duct and drove the car around the block and to work and seemed fine. On the way home from work I started getting a whistling/whining noise coming from the engine bay. At first I thought it may be the coolant hoses hitting the water pump so I put them out of the way with a zip tie but the noise still continued. It sounds like it was coming from the throttle body. I used all the right gaskets and the intake felt like it was seated correctly, so I am hoping it is not a vacuum leak. I did a search and found some others had problems with the bbk products giving a whining noise. I hope this is not the standard for these products as I don't want to deal with a constant whistle. I am just concerned since it didn't so this immediately and started whistling after driving a few miles. The intake, throttle body and air filter seem to be the only mods, but it appears the car had a ported/descreened MAF installed when I put on the air filter.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
