Squeal?
I removed the top part of my dad's air box on his car the other night cause I had a race with a buddy's LS1 6 spd camaro with a lid on it. I won that race. Even off the line then I hit second and started pulling. I had a car nd a half to two cars on him by the end of a 1/4 mile. It was a 99. Anyways. I have yet to put the lid back on and I have noticed now that between 2000-2500 there is a noticable squeal. I have the filter zip tied to the the bottom of the lid. I think it may be air getting by the filter or something but if it is that, then shouldn't it be doing it at every rpm abouve 2000? Maybe the belt is squealing? I'm really worried I messed something up. I shifted at redline and never missed a shift. Never banged the rev limiter or nothing. I launched with traction off at about 2300-2500 and came out extremely hot with a lot of wheelspin. Thanks for the help.
