Default 99 frc chargeing system

99 frc 262500 miles voltage dropped and said charging system fault. I replaced the alternator as it was the original. figured was due with high miles. same problem. question, is there a fuse or fuseable link? Car still starts and runs so would be shocked if it was battery

The alternator wire goes to the solenoid and has a fusible link there. There is also a voltage sensing wire from the alternator to the solenoid with a fusible link. Take the connections off the large post at the solenoid apart and make sure they are clean before re-assembling. These connections are known to corrode and cause issues.

Check the fusible links by examining them for visible damage and then pull them to see if they stretch which is bad and just feel if the wire seems solid inside.

What alternator did you buy? The 99 can be finicky about communicating with pcm. Best option is to have the old one rebuilt if possible. Check this post. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tem-fault.html
