I know the TPMS system has been discussed here ad nauseum and I did try several searches, but I can't find an answer to my specific question. I recently purchased an '03 AE with about 20,500 miles and soon after getting it home, the right front sensor showed dashes and the Service Tire Monitoring light came on. About a week later, all tires are showing dashes! It seems unlikely that all sensors would die at once, so could this be a receiver problem? Is this common? Is this something that I can fix with simple parts replacement?
They're all four 12 years old, so it's possible. Very unlikely it's the receiver. Does your remote still work? Did you check the codes in the DIC?
First thing I'd do (after checking codes) is get a strong magnet and reprogram them. I'm assuming you are driving the car often. If not, first thing I'd do is take a road trip to see if they activate after a drive. They shut down when inactive to save the internal battery and reactivate after driving a while.

I have been driving it but that didn't reset them. I tried to reset using the magnet trick but got no response from the LF sensor to start the process. I had done a reset on that sensor about a week before this happened but couldn't do the rest of the sensors since the RF was the first to show the dashes. I'm headed out right now to check the DIC codes.
OK, just checked and I got codes for all 4 sensor malfunctions. Guess that's it! It just seemed strange that they would all go out in such a short period of time, but I guess that's what happened!
Thanks for the guidance.

Yep, the fobs do still work. Forgot to mention that in my first reply. Doesn't the relearn go in sequential order? First time I did it I couldn't get it to get past the RF wheel, which was the first to die.

You have to do all four at the same time. If you skip or don't finish, the program erases the others. That's probably your problem. Try starting with each one and see which one doesn't beep and that should be the bad one.
The car doesn't know which wheel you're standing at. Just try the wheels in any order and see if any of the sensors do work. That should at least help narrow down the issue.

I'll give it a shot.

Short period of time ? The batteries in them things are 12 yrs old
What I meant was a short period of time between the other three failing! Basically, they all went at the same time. Seemed strange to me.
OK, I think I'm on the road to figuring this out! I reset all the DIC faults and redid the learning process. All wheels except the RF are working! I didn't know I had to clear the codes before I could do the relearning setup. So, I guess it's just the RF sensor that's bad, which is where I was last week. Thanks so much for everyone's advice and patience with a Vette newbie!

If they are all the OEM... it might be worth it just to replace them all while your at it and be done with it... just sayin.
