Default 2003 C5 Base model replacemnt shocks?

GM!
I need some help...
I'm looking to replace my front and rear shocks in a 2003 C5 (base model). Does anyone know the difference between the Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty series to the B8 Sport series? Or is there a preferred alternate brand and model number shock?
Which is the equivalent replacement model (numbers would help) to the stock shocks?

For street use on a base suspension, get the HDs. They are about 20% stiffer than stock and give you great handling with a comfortable ride. The SPs are pretty stiff and are meant to be used with a lowered suspension and/or stiffer springs.

I went with HDs on my car and I find them perfect for the street. Completely transformed my car.

When I replaced my F55 Magnetic Selective Ride shocks on my 03 (due to leaking), I went with the Sports. I always kept the F55 switch in the "Sport" position (the firmer setting of the 2). Could not be more pleased with the Bilsteins.

For your application, I agree the HD's are probably a better choice, unless you want to go "firmer".

A lot of people also go with the C6 ZO6 shocks which are inexpensive and a direct fit. When paired with C6 ZO6 sway bars people have been very pleased.

OK, I just want to stick close with the stock suspension for now. Thx!

Great to know if I upgrade in the future to that sway bar.

Thanks for the reply!

I run stock C6Z06 shocks (rear with european valving) and couldn't be any happier. Firm yet comfortable on the street, with great control on the track. Plus, they're cheaper than anything aftermarket. I highly recommend them.

I went with the C6 "base" shocks. They ride relatively soft, and handle great, and priced right. I couldn't see any reason to put a stiffer shock on the base springs.
