Did some searching, and could find no definitive answer. I have a trans cooler that I want to install and would like to know what the parts I will need to connect it to the upper trans line. It's a large HD unit I picked up for my 63 GP years ago, but never used. Planning on mounting it directly to my condenser coils.
If by-passing my radiator cooling loop is better, then I will do that. Right now, I run between 196 and 210 during normal driving. Idling around in traffic it will hit 220-230.
Looking for (hopefully) a parts list of parts needed to safely tap into the factory trans cooling fitting(s).
I don't know the rating of that cooler, but it's less efficient than a plate and fin cooler. When I did mine I used a B&M cooler and ran it through the radiator first. If you have cold weather and bypass the radiator the trans may not ever get up to temp. I would get a 160 thermostat and reprogram the fans also. I run 190 - 200 in the summer and the car is made to run warm due to the emission equipment. Good luck, Rod
