First headlight problem

First headlight problem
As of yesterday the left headlamp assembly would not raise. Checked the forum and raised the headlight manually. When I turned them off both went down with the left one grinding momentarily, right was ok. Now they both come up but the left one grinds every time when down.
So new brass gear I would assume and do both right away.
What is different is now when I turn on only the parking lamps, both headlights come up. Where before I only got parking lights as would be normal.
Two changes from stock; Radioflyer hyper flash harness and Radioflyer 4-ON harness. Of which have been working flawlessly!
Any ideas?
