Default Adding Fog Lights ?

I searched the forum and have found all of the GM part numbers to install factory fog lights but I wondered if the wiring harness is installed in my 2000 coupe that did not originally come with factory fog lights

Any help would be great..... I'd love to install the fog lights if the wiring is there.

Thanks in advance

Get the PIAA 1100 and forget about the factory. I installed the PIAAs on my Z06 and they are great. I drove my bothers 02 vert with the factory fogs and they are a joke compared to the PIAAs. A few of our supporting vendors have them.

You will have to make your own brackets or have them made but it will be worth it.

Here is some info that I put together:

Send all you thanks to Bill (wt2ga) as he is the original designer of these brackets. I just copied his brackets.

Here are some pics of where they are installed:

Here are some instructions.

This one is Z06 specific:

This one is Coupe and vert but will also help you:

This pic is of .125 pieces of alumnium. They are 2" wide and you can see the height of each piece:

This is a closeup measurement of the 2 holes that you will drill:

Each piece is 2" wide:

Pic of both pieces put together as they will be. Drill the hole in the small piece:

In this pic you can see the 2 small holes to the left. I drilled these and double flushed some small rivits to hold the pieces together. You have to have your fastner flush at least on this side:

Here is the pic of the finished item:

soap

whichever type of lights you get know this:

1. the wiring and relays are THERE from the dash to the under hood fuse box.

2. get the factory switch, and it will just plug in where the trunk release switch is now (it has fog light and trunk release on it)

3. you will have to wire from the under hood fuse panel to the lights

4. you can either run the hot wire up into the fuse box to fuse #6 (if memory serves me correctly) to get power OR raise up the fuse panel, get your service manual out and spice it into a wire down there (that is what I did)

5. push the button and let there be fog lights :)

hope that helps answer your original question
