Default DRL issue

I installed some switchback LED DRLs last week and they dont seem to be working right. Or maybe its just me. My understanding would be that they should be white during the day with a amber blinker, then at night, when my headlights are on, they would be either off or amber with an amber blinker. Thats not how they are currently. Could it be a bulb issue?

Here is how my switchbacks work:

No parking or headlights turned on - DRL = solid amber
No parking or headlights turned on, turn signal turned on - DRL = flashing amber

Parking lights on - DRL = solid white
Parking lights on, turn signal turned on - DRL = white OFF, flashing amber

Headlights on - DRL = solid white
Headlights on, turn signal turned on - DRL = white OFF, flashing amber

----------------------------------------------

The only switchback DRL variation I've seen other than above is that when Parking lights or Headlights are ON, when the turn signal is activated, the DRL will alternately flash between WHITE to Amber to White........

DRL and turn signals use the same filament /power feed to the bulb which is amber power on a switchback. The bulb has no clue if the power is because it's acting as a DRL or as a turn signal.

That is how these are working. I guess that is how they are supposed to? Just seems like there should be more white unless its blinking.

Check this link out, vendor I used for most of my LED and HID lighting has an optional harness. I am not sure that all switchback DRL's would be compatible with this harness, if your interested contacting the vendor might answer whether your bulbs would work.

Personally, if I want the DRL's "white" just turn on the parking lights.
