Default Breathless non-popup headlights

I'm thinking about installing a set of these headlights on my 02 C5. Anyone have experience with them - good or bad?

I hadn't heard of them but I just looked them up. You're paying $1,400 for a non projector headlight. In my opinion they're not worth it. I think there's other brands for a similar price with projectors.

This person has the breathless units and doesn't seem to happy with them.

Im on my phone so I cant post my pics but please look on my previous posts and I have some car pics. I would not recommend them if you wanna drive at night. The original owner put them on so they came with the car. Personally, I think they look ok at best, quality wise let me not go there.. They really are not worth the price. I would urge you look into the Radio Flyer lights. They at least seem brighter although others have had issues with them.

Good luck to you.

Just installed 1.5 months ago. They quit installing the piaa driving lights and replaced with with pilot. Here's a webpage i made about them.

http://tredalign.com/breathlessheadlights.html

Nice product in design. They are just going down the road of using crap products and overpricing it. The low beams are nice. They use a high beam bulb from 93-97 camaro. If they would just put a piaa 00492 driving lights in, they would be great. I have a facebook friend with the older ones with piaa lights. He says they'll blind you. Ernie at breathless insists they won't. He did refund me some money towards me replacing them.

I'll be adding more later to the webpage documenting the changes over time. I understand items get discontinued and you have to find replacements. The price should reflect that as well.

They came preinstalled on my car, which seemed like it had a whole 'vette aftermarket catalog thrown at it. Sealed beam bulbs are crap, the driving lights for high beams are worse. Bracket is good and beefy, but only attached at the wheeltub. I went and switched to Radioflyer V3 setup eventually, but that needs a lot of special tweaking, too.

When you had yours, were the high beams piaa driving lights or the blue lens pilot like mine?

Mine had the PIAA. Saw your video, and I think using a HI-4 harness so your lows stay on with the highs would help a lot.

My experience with them was bad. No customer service--you
have been warned.

yes, ernie did offer that. but here's my issue.

1.) low beam are 65 watts each. the pilot excuse for a light is 55 watts each. how does turning both lights on per side going to add when they are duller than the low beams? they advertise the high beams put out a total of 280 watts, or 140 watts each.

2.) ernie knowing full well of this issue should just provide the 4 on harness for the 1400.00 list price.

3.) as advertised, PIAA lights are supposed to be included. they put out 110 watts each. almost double the low beams. wouldn't need the harness.

as far as customer service, ernie did help when i called with questions about installation. and worked with me to remedy the no PIAA lights as advertised. not completely to my satisfaction, but did give a partial refund.

at this point in time. you will not get what's advertised for the high price of these. i like the whole setup, which is why i paid their price for them at the time of 1350.00 shipped.

For $200 less, you can get a set of our SLC V3 headlights. They have the same low-profile lens, but use Bi-xenon projector and LED high beam optics:

I have these on my 02 coupe

No trouble seeing the road even in pitch black.

Low beams from the driver's seat:

They will be back on our website in about a week as soon as we get a technical production glitch ironed out.

I have the Breathless but only because I got 'em used on Craigslist for a fraction of their original cost. I did get the GOOD high beams, apparently because my lights were OLD.
However. I ended up 'upgrading' the bulbs for the low beams by splicing in 9005 sockets and installing EXPENSIVE new 9005 uber bulbs.
I just received new lenses, as one of mine was broken when it was hit on the highway.
The lenses 'almost' fit. I had to TRIM them to align them and even then, still had to customize holes for the screws to mount them on the original light housings.

Radio Flyer, next lights are coming from you.

when i purchased the breathless, my car was in the body shop from an accident. i didn't have the 45 day lead time as explained on your website to wait. something to be said for having items in stock and a phone number posted on your website to even call. i gladly paid the extra 150.00 for that alone. they answered on a saturday just before 5PM.

Meanwhile, I think I've found a new calling in Corvette Life.
'Everywhere' I look for a sun visor, whether it's New or Used...
They're $100.oo or "MORE", I've seen up to $150.oo
WTF???

I removed my driver's side sun visor today and 'disassembled' it.
Down the cellar, found the exact wood I was thinking of, and

VOILA! ! !

Traced the pattern from that POS semi cardboard internal from the original visor and a little magic later, I've replaced it.

Staples back in, and planning out the last part of the reassembly.

It'll be STRONGER than factory.

Default Broke... sob

As she sits in the driveway.... ugh

I may just pull the dash and resolve that 'dim' HUD issue I have.

In the daylight, the HUD doesn't go to FULL INTENSITY.

More often than not, it's barely visible in the daytime.
