I've been considering a splitter from CFC and wonder if they typically effect the air flow / cooling of the car? I'm in Texas and temps can get pretty warm..
A front splitter absolutely affects engine cooling at speed.
Some splitters promote engine cooling better than others, but most, if not all, should retain the OEM center air dam. The corner air dams are not as important for engine cooling.
I cannot speak specifically to the splitter you are asking about, but I am sure others can chime in on that.
I have the ACI ASF700 and, with the OEM center air dam still in place, I have no cooling issues.
As long as the splitter has a center slot open to the center stock air dam, you should be fine. These splitters include the ACI as mentioned as well as the Vortex (what I have), which is a shortened version of the ACI. Another style that is OK (from what owners have said) is the C5R style which is a flat, thick piece that mimics the shape of the front fascia and bolts up to it. This one allows some air underneath it and on to the center dam.
The ones to avoid are those with no opening in the middle, or the ZR style that has two small openings, one on each side. These can be used, but you'll want to make other modifications to compensate for the blocked airflow, such as vented hood, fans set to come on earlier, open license plate vent and/or custom duct work.
