There are no coolant passages in the intake manifold.
Have you done TB bypass yet? Suppose you could unbolt TB from manifold and let it hang if you are removing the intake if that hasn't been done yet. Why are you removing intake? Upgrading? If your car is Y2K or older then yes, coolant should be drained so that the small coolant pipes can be removed, the rear stops put in, and the new coolant passage pipe installed on the front of the heads...

My car has the whistling intake and I was wondering about the mess involved. I just had the rings done a couple months ago (4,700 miles a quart :D now ) and am thinking about getting the intake replaced per the TSB.
