Oh oh...those sent flakes, those are chunks. Pull the cam and heads. Cam bearings usually mimic the mains so you could look. You will want to look at the cylinder walls for scoring.
As far as cheap motors, think about the cost of tearing one down, the time, the money to just do gaskets and fluids. It's 500$ per time, or more. Do it right the first time...get a forged motor. I've had my 416 from scoggin Dickey now for 9 years. Road race it, drag race it, half mile, 10 hour road trips...it's great. I'd look to them maybe if you are in the market.

Got the heads and headers off today. Noticed a couple of what appear to be extremely minor scratches on the front first two cylinders on the passenger side. Finger nail doesn't catch on them but you can see them when the light hits them. On the driver side there is a little scuff on the top of the pin for the valve spring. Thoughts so far?

Haven't torn down yet but the engine is out.

Front main seal was def leaking. Which Jack is that? Was it long enough to do it from the front or did you do the side?

I'm not sure if the front main is leaking or not I have spilled coolant all over the place, some oil etc. My engine is insanely filthy, waiting for my flywheel holding tool to arrive today to get it off the tire and onto a stand to start the teardown.

I used the Harbor Freight 2 ton, it was barely long enough to pull from the passenger side. I bet I had 4 inches of clearance but it got the job done. I was able to pull the motor with the hood still on I think it would have been questionable to do if I kept the heads on. More pics to come soon.
