C5 headlight motor?

C5 headlight motor?
A Brother Vette owner (C-5_ turned off the headlights and one when it closes continues to run for about 4 or 5 seconds. Any thought s on what he should do? Other than to but a C-6 or C-7.

Plastic worm gear is stripped. Hundreds of threads on replacing the plastic gear with a brass gear. Here's one.

Also lube ALL your pivot points with a drop or two clean engine oil or a light machine oil like 3-in-One (NOT WD-40). I prefer engine oil. I usually do mine about once a year.
