On the second page, about halfway down, there is a window that you can click on that will bring up the installation instructions for the Corsa "X" pipe, complete with photos. They show the factory "H" pipe being cut out and removed. You may want to print out a copy and show them to you tech.
Good luck with getting your car fixed.

Re: Corsa Indys fell off!!! (ShanMan14)
I just replaced my stock system with Stingers and a Corsa X pipoe. I'm GLAD I bought the X pipe because the factory H pipe and passeneger mudffler weldss were failing. I've already replaced my driver's side muffler when the weld failed there last year.
The Full corsa X pipe would be impossible to install with the stock H pipe in place. It's simply not possible- it's too big. Now, the "off-road" X pipe would work. It's pretty small and I can see how you could cut out a section of the H pipe an weld in the X with both the X and the H in there. Why you'd do this is beyond me.
Either way, go replace the whole bloody thing. The stocker is a piece of crap...
I e-mailed Paul at Corsa Performance and invited him to check out this thread and comment if he chose to do so. His e-mail reply to me:
"Hello John,
I have reviewed the post on the web and to plainly put it, that installation is totally against our design if our X- pipe was used. The entire purpose of our x-pipe is to eliminate the factory H-pipe so that you improve exhaust efficiency. Also, in no way, shape or form should our products be modified...not only does this void our warranties, but since our products are designed specifically around pressure, flow, and acoustics, the product may not work as designed. It is nearly 4 ft in length for a purpose with the merge point in a specific area. I hope this has been of some help, and please feel free to use this if you desire."
Id go after the installer. Even if you had a warranty GM wouldnt be responsable for some a-holes mess. The way they put it together more than likley caused the weld to break, it just had to much weight and stress on the weld. Good Luck .By the way Id find a new installer for all future jobs.
The Corsa provided clamps are tight but I question if they really grip and hold the pipe. I have major exhause leaks (see pictures) and fear twisting off the clamps.

Check the black traces on the frame. I was told this is normal
So I agree, the install was done incorrectly. The exhaust system is now fixed, so for that I'm thankful. I'm not going back to the shop 18 months later and demanding they do it to my definition of "right", it's just NOT worth my time.
I also do not wish to incur further inconvenience or expense in having the pipe replaced. Because of where the X-pipe was welded into the system, it will cost more than the entire exhaust to have it done correctly. That is according to Nate at Xtreme, where the flanges were ultimately fixed.
Kudos to Nate for helping me out. Thumbs down to the original installers, too bad Xtreme wasn't in town when I had the work done.
I am running the H-pipe AND the X-pipe. My concern was that the muffler shops down here are so incompetent that if I had the remove the H pipe, I'd never get my tips lined back up properly.
FWIW, I have YET to have a problem with my Flanges.
The H-pipe is pretty much worthless for cross ventilation of the tubes, the size of the hole that actually allows gas to pass through the H-pipe is miniscule. The X-Pipe DOES serve a purpose, I just didn't see any need to cut out the H-pipe which added some stability and strength to the exhaust.
BTW...before I get ragged on here...I am running one of Nate's Xtreme X-pipes from a couple of years ago...it is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter then the Corsa and the fact that I cut out my cats, I had PLENTY of room for both the X and the H pipe...

Yes, I should mention that I purchased mine from RG @ Exit28 prior to the release of the Corsa X-Pipe. At the time, it was the only one available.
The exact same thing just happened to me last Thrusday night. My car is still covered under my extended warranty but I didn't even bother to use it. There is a really good muffler shop here in Dallas that fixed it in 20 minutes and it only cost me $15. It would have taken a lot more time, effort, and everything if I had taken it to the dealer. By the way, the exact same thing happened on the passenger side exhaust flange almost exactly a year ago and I fixed it the same way. I'm not worried about it any more now that I KNOW that I have Quality welds on both flanges!
Not an uncommon problem. Same weld broke on my 98. No biggie, 20 bux at the local muffler shop and I was back in business. Get them to do both sides when you go, cause the other side will go eventually.

That's moisture blow by, and it's normal...... :yesnod:
....... :yesnod: ...by the way you should only use one cross config. , H which is stock, or X after market ......
