Borla Stingers - Great Rumble
Someone posted that these pipes really give our Vette's the right sound. I have to agree 100%. Low RPM rumble and great sound from 3500 -> and still not too intrusive (IMHO).
Installation was easy on a lift. Drop sway bar . . . Unbolt over axle pipes from H-pipe . . . Unbolt muffler hangers . . . Reverse with Borla gear . . . and crank it up.

Paid 100. for install at Advanced Auto in Drew Park, Owners Name is Ted. Perfect install, he does work for the local Porsche and Mazerati Dealers.
(he gives a lifetime guarantee on the install...worth the $25-30 bucks that some bean counters think I overpaid...what the f ever. MYOB!

Paid $50 to get my install done as its a 30 minute job by someone who knows what they are doing. Might take an hour by someone who doent know but even at most shops hours rate, $100 seem high.

If you ever get head and cam work, lookout! She'll really sound mean then. Congrats. I loved mine before the heads and cam. Not so sure about it now. I'm still adjusting to the extra db's.

I didn't like the 2 pipe Look of the Stingers, but it is starting to grow on me a bit. I don't know??????????? I think I personally like 4 pipes better.
However, I definately like em more now than the 1st time I saw them.
I have Corsa Indy's and are happy with them. The stingers are priced way cheaper and look to be real nice in terms of quality. I have been told by a few who installed them there is a slight cabin ressonance at certain rpm's, but it isn't too bad and they were all overall pleased with them.
Is this true??? The slight ressonance?

I've had mine on for about a month now and they sound great. I got a lot of comment on the sound at the recent Monterey Historic Grand Prix where the featured marquie was Corvette. There were many in the house that weekend. If I could figure out how to send pics I would. :confused:

My '98 with an A4 and 2.73 gears has more than a slight resonance when accelerating with the top up. I called Borla and they are sending inserts to weld into the pipes to reduce the resonance. The interior was deadened with two kinds of material however some areas remain loud. Hope to have the inserts this week.
