Default C6Z brakes vs What wheels

I have a C5Z and I want to do C6Z brakes. Its one of those things I have always wanted to do.

However, I have a set of Fikse FM5 that I picked up for a steal. Now comes the question - I have seen C6Z on 17 in wheels. How do I know if they will fit or if I will have to buy new wheels? Any clues other than "just see if it works"?

I do have a C6Z at the shop I could try to test fit with I guess...

I do not believe you will fit 355mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but not 100% sure?

Also, print out this temlpate (full size) and see if the Fikse pad depth will accommodate the caliper.

Good luck!

you sure about that?... I always see them staggered 18 front 17 rear... the brakes look nice but at times I regret it because it's so damn hard to find wheels that I like that will fit... I have 19" 505a's all around right now and I think I'm just going to have to settle for 18" rears, keep the 19" fronts, and try to sell my current 19" rears... I wanted to do an 18/17 setup and tried talking to weld on 4 different occasions now to no avail and forgeline said they could make some that I like but they are quite a bit more expensive than my ccw's were

There is one example of a ton I have seen. His are 17x4 in the front, the Z06 calipers LOOK like they are still there.

In other news that car is very very sexy.

I mean, if you dont like your brakes, I do have a set of Fikse FM5 on my car right now that would be useless if you mailed them to me hahaha. I picked them up on a deal and I cant seem to sell them to save my life. I really want some CCW classics or 505s.

yeah it is hard to tell, I wonder if he used rear calipers on the front... I was certain you had to use at least an 18 to clear c6z fronts but I guess I was wrong... I agree that car is sick looking!... I like the brakes, just don't like the lack of wheel selection... someone posted in another thread that they went by weld's office and someone said they make a front rts to clear c6z brakes on a c5 and stay in the fender... like I said, I called them 4 times, the last time being a week or so ago and they told me no every time so unless what they told the other guy was a mistake I have no idea why they kept turning away business... if they would make those for me I'd sell my 505a's... classics are nice too but they cover the brakes up and you wouldn't really see them... fm5's are hella nice too, I don't see why they wouldn't sell... have you tried selling them to the f-body crowd?

May be a difference in wheels, but 17's would not fit on the front of my vert when I put the bigger brakes on it. You will need at least 5/8" more offset over stock to clear the bigger calipers on the front also.
