What overall gear ratio would I have? I know 4th is still a 1:1 ratio, but what about the other gears. Would I see a good improvement in acceleration?

The M12 really helps acceleration but the gap between 3rd and 4th is much wider and more noticeable than the MN6. I love the effect of the lower gears, though. Everytime I drive a Z I am impressed with the punch at 3500 in 2nd. It really hits a lot harder than my car did with the same power levels.
It's too bad that the M12s are having trouble with synchros breaking so much more than the 6s because the lat time I checked you could get one for ~$3000 shipped...which is a deal IMO for a brand new tranny. You could install the M12 gears in an MN6 along with some upgrade parts and it would work nice :yesnod:
I put a z06 tranny in mine...cost me $1600...sold the other for $900...worth the money to me...someone said it was the effect (in lower gears) of a 3.90 rear end after they did the calculations...didn't do them myself though...
