I have an aftermarket Autometer Cobalt (electric) fuel pressure gauge on my A&A boosted ZO6. This morning, I noticed the gauge suddenly drop to zero for several seconds until it picked back up again, going immediately to normal cruising fuel pressure around 50 or 60. It did this several times.
When it happened, the car ran perfectly fine. No stuttering, no hesitation, no change in throttle feel or exhaust note/pitch, or rpm change. I'm assuming the gauge is losing connection with the sending unit, but am obviously a bit concerned.
If the fuel pressure drops to zero for a few seconds, this is something you'd notice immediately right? I mean, the car would hesitate, buck, etc etc instantly with full loss of pressure.
Took the car out for lunch today and there was no funny business this time. I'll keep a close eye on it and will pull the gauge to check the wiring on the back, then inspect the cable, and then the pressure transducer. Will replace if necessary.
Ive never understood why so many people here run Fuel pressure and wideband gauges over wideband and oil pressure gauges. Its pretty easy to tell if you don't have fuel pressure most of the time with just the wideband if your tune has been on point up to when it starts reading lean/ stumbling.
