Default Codes Questions???

Since coming to the forum and getting into the "DIC" I started wondering. I get several codes coming up. Can I get someone to tell me (in 3rd grade English) what these are and what to do about them:
1) RFA U1000
2) RFA U1064

Also, several weeks ago I put in a Halltech T-1 intake. Since then (after doing the idle re-learn process) every once in a while (normally stop and go traffic when it's warm) I get the check engine light (not flashing) and the following codes:
1) PCM P0174
2) PCM P0171

Once I clear them everything is good to go for several weeks then they come back on. Of course when I took it into the "service department"-they said codes all clear no worries? I could continue to clear them for the rest of the car's life, but want to make sure I am not damaging the car. Thanks in advance, doug

Happy to be here, proud to serve :flag :flag

Default Re: Codes Questions??? (DouglasWc5)

Here you go.

RFA U1000 = Loss of Communication Undetermined - RFA

RFA U1064 = Loss of Communication with DCM (No SOH Message Received - RFA)

PCM P0174 = Fuel Trim System Lean bank 2-B

PCM P0171 = Fuel Trim System Lean bank 1-B

I don't know that I can help you much with translations other than that RFA refers to the Remote Function Actuator (Key Fob, Tire Pressure Sensors, RFA Transmittor, etc.). DCM refers to the Door Control Module computer. Apparently, at some time they were not communicating with each other. If your codes have an "H" only after them this only indicates a history and not a current condition. A "C" indicates a problem now and "HC" indicates it has been, and is now doing whatever the code represents. Hope this is some help.
