Shock stuffers NOT installed
Yes, my shocks are leaking and yes I will be replacing them. I've read a bunch of threads regarding the F55 shocks, replacement options, etc, etc. But I have more of a mechanical question. Driving this car for the majority of the 150k miles in "Tour" mode, I would occasionally switch it to "Sport" mode and feel a distinct difference in the two settings. A couple of months ago I noticed my ride had tightened up considerably so I threw it in "Sport" mode and, although a very small difference could still be felt it was no where near what I experienced previously. So my thought was that if these shocks were failing, why didn't the ride soften up instead of tightening? What happens when electrical current flows through the magnetized fluid? Does that soften the shock or does it stiffen the shock?
Any ideas? Could this be a system problem where I would need to disconnect the battery for a reboot? No codes are showing, by the way.
