On vacation for the holiday, 1500 mile from home and engine won't crank.
Ran the diagnostics, nothing showed up as current, have a few H codes for the RDCM, SCM, and AO-LDCM. New to the community, have no idea what those stand fo4r.
Been searching all morning checking the recommended fuses, nothing blown. DIC was showing 11.7V so we hooked a jumper up, still no crank, starter won't even click. DIC was showing 13.3V with the jumper hooked up.
Only difference I can see is my shift lever moves easier than before (auto). Removed the center console, everything looks intact there. Thought maybe the computer didn't know it was in park.
Your battery is weak for sure... jump it and have someone hit the key to start it while you tap the starter with an old broom handle... don't be afraid to whack it pretty good...
Check and or wiggle those connections at the starter as well as the battery ones..
LOL We must have been typing and hit save at nearly the exact same time
OP those codes have nothing to do with your problem...

11.7 is way pass DEAD. The electronics need good voltage to work properly. That may be why they will not allow the start sequence to happen. Charge it up to at least 12.5 volts. You might even take it to an auto parts store and have it load tested to see if it has issues.
Resolved. Had it towed to the dealer. Inh my case, we found out it was the shifter cdable. It broke at the transmission, was stuck in drive. Apparently the park safety switch i8s located in the transmission causing the no start condition.
Yeap, that would do it. Hope the whole experience was not too expensive. But when you are 1500 miles away you have limited choices.
I looked back at your first post and it was obvious what the problem might be in hindsight. You gave us the clue we should have picked up on. I guess we got tunnel vision on the normal causes.
I figured it was either the park safety switch or the starter. Read a post on here that said the safety switch was under the shifter, removed the center console but couldn't find the switch to check..
Talked with the service manager at Checy, was supposed to be 1.8 hrs labor, $90 for a new shift cable. Was expecting total bill around $270. Must have had an intern working on it. Took 4 hrs, extra parts included stud kit for the exhaust, gaskets, $40 for some seal?????? Total bill was a little over $500. At least I'm back on the road though and have learned a little more about the car. Finally got to see the bottom of it. Thanks to everyone for the help.
