does anyone have experience with uniroyal tiger paw gtz a/s tires for there c5?
Yes, I have the Tiger Paws and they drive and ride great. Unfortunately, they don't look nearly as good as the Goodyear run-flats. The Uniroyals (actually Michelins according to some) have more rounded sidewalls and don't fit the rims the same way.

I know that...
I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires - man are they hard and loud. Switched to Continental Extreme Contact DWS. What a difference on my daily drive - quiet and smooth. No bone jarring. It is like a new car.
Not for the track but great for a daily driver with poor roads.

Sorry to be so long answering. I like the way the Tiger Paws handle, but I don't like the way they look. The sidewalls aren't squared-off like the Goodyears. Otherwise, they're fine..
Hey Captain, thanks for your comment. Could you elaborate on the rounded sidewall appearance of this tire? I am concerned that the tread width is appreciably less than the wheel width (or the sidewall bulge itself).
I am considering the 245/45/17's for the front, and 275/40/18's for the rear.
Thank you, HKW

Take a look at the picture of my car in my profile. I think you'll be able to see the "doughnut" curvature of the sidewalls of the tires. I wouldn't worry about the tread making ground contact--it seems to be fine. Good luck with your decision.
Not sure what wheels you're running but I'm using re760s on c5 zo6 wheels and like the appearance and handling characteristics of them for a street tire. Might be a worthy contender.

Just a comment - I run the Hankook Ventus V12s on my car and really like them. They are not an a/s tire, but I don't drive mine in the winter anyway. I have driven it in the rain and have had no problems at highway speeds. The car handles very well, good ride, very little road noise and the price for a set is very reasonable.
I would not hesitate to buy another set for the car when it is needed.

Thanks, Nas and Vetteman. I'm running 8.5 x 17's and 9.5 x 18's from a 2004.
I like those Bridgestone's and will seriously consider them. Thanks for the tip. Also looked at the Ventus V12 EVO2's and they look promising, too.
I have four-year-old hankooks with 15k miles on them (4k of that road trip) and they're shockingly decent considering they're near the end of their life. I can't wait to put new ones on and see how much better they are.
They're not amazing in the rain, but consider that I drove through massive rainstorms on them, just barely having bought this vette, with a supercharger (9 pound pulley), learning stick, having never driven a rwd car before... and I had no scary moments in the rain. They're more than decent if you don't push them around wet corners, which you shouldn't do anyways.
