I need to replace my C5 shifter. Looking for an opinion/suggestion on which shifter to use. Any thoughts/experiences appreciated. I am going with either the Hinson or the MGW. Thank you in advance - VETTEC599.
I am very happy with my MGW which I have had now for about three years - much shorter throw, no noise, no vibration. It is so mechanically beautiful that I almost didn't put the boot back on. It does require a little more effort to shift - but not a problem.
The Hinson seems to be a newer product? You will probably not find much information on it right now.. That being said, the MGW is proven and is a 100% fix which cannot wear out. I am buying the MGW and **** soon.
Just installed the mgw this weekend. Not a single problem on the install, shifting was positive and speed shifts like butter. Having owned a tr6060 / t56 magnum, I had no idea a t56 could shift so well.

I like the mgw, I have an older model probably 4-5 years old and I did have to add one washer to loosen the shifting to my liking but now it's great... I have no reason to want to switch... hinson is coming out with new products for quite a bit cheaper than the competitors (this shifter and longtube headers come to mind) and this will appeal to many people but I would give them some time to get out on the market and get real world reviews before pulling the trigger... you could pay a hundred or so more and get something that is tried and proven or save a little and take a gamble
Whether I'm first or not - I am going with the Hinson! If it does what I want - great! If not - so be it! My feelings only.
that is so cool... Please pay close attention and give us all the details... can't wait to get your review... I hope it's as good as it looks and sounds...
