Air bag light
I have a '01 Vert. The airbag light doesn't illuminate and then go out during start like the other indicators on the dash clusters. Is this normal?
Also, the shift 1-4 system is working but the light doesn't come on. It also doesn't come on during start up as a test like the other lights. Normal?
I've poured through the owners manual and can't find anything on either of these issues.

Neither condition is normal.

I thought all lights lit up at start but that one may not since it is not a warning light. I don't have my car here to check.
Here is what the Owners Manual says.
Warning lights come on when there may be or is a
problem with one of your vehicle’s functions. As you
will see in the details on the next few pages, some
warning lights come on briefly when you start the
engine just to let you know they’re working.
