Default HELP on LS6 swap with Headers

Ok I have read about a 1000 posts already on the subject
But now that I have it all apart I have some questions. The new intake is the Dorman LS6 repo that I have done about 10 hrs of porting on and it looks much better than the way it came
My questions are now that I am installing long tube headers with no EGR provisions, what all can I remove and not put back on.
Also The back of the ls1 intake has this electrical/vacuum thingamajig and I don't know what do with it since the new Dorman ls6 has no place for this.
So I am going to place some pics in here and if you could tell me to pitch it or keep it!

Here Goes: Pic 1 is the back of the ls1
pic 2 is the ls6 dorman with 3 ports on it
pic 3 is drivers side something with vacuum ports and elec.
pic 4 is some kind of lg vacuum tubing that connects to
front of intake on passenger side.
pic 5 is the connection point of the egr on drivers side, I am
assuming I can just take all the egr stuff off both sides and
then what do I do with the black lg vacuum tube that was
connected too it?

Thanks in advance for the corvette NOOOB

Default Some pics of the porting if anyone is interested

Before you can see at the top there is about a 1/4 inch of overhang into the port on the left side. That can be completely hogged out and gone. Also you can flatten out the port a good 4.5 inches or so down into the port on both sides. The throttle body was right a 73 mm before starting and after right at 76.7 after. It should definitely flow as good or maybe even a hare better than the stock Ls6 now.

pic 1 is the GM MAP sensor and vac nipple for the A/C blend doors I believe.

That sensor is the MAP sensor and you need it. It looks like you'll have to run one connected with a hose. I'm not sure if you can connect a hose to the C5 one or if you have to find an older sensor that has a hose nipple (like a TBI MAP sensor) and change the plug on the harness to match that sensor.

You have 3 ports so hopefully they work for the MAP, AC and brake booster hoses.

Kind of funny, read so many posts and never seen one talk about the MAP sensor on the back of the intake being and issue. It was always...Yeah it just swaps over, no problem. Do you know what year and what make and model I might try to find this TBI MAP sensor that runs via hose nipple? Changing the plug I guess wouldn't be an issue as long as it is the same amount of wires?

Does any one know what the pic # 3 is? It was on the drivers side next to the fuel rail. It wasn't connected to anything, but it looks like it has and elbow that connected to some kind of small vacuum line. The same size as the AC blend door vacuum. There is also another port there that has a raised small circle around it? The connection on the left side of this doohicky comes from the plastic connector that is on the drivers side intake next to the throttle body. The one you have to squeeze the little light color grey plastic piece down to disconnect. I'm sure they are supposed to connect to something. As many people that have had the intake off on this site surely someone out there knows where these go>>>

Pull the one out of the intake and see if it will take a hose. Pic 3 is a vent valve and that's how it should look. The other lines look like PVC piping. I see you have some damage you'll have to fix.

Default Problem solved!!!!

SO I researched a little this AM and what it took to get the round bung that holds the MAP sensor out of the LS1 intake and basically you have to destroy the intake to get it out. SO then I researched about using possibly an nipple style MAP sensor off another GM car and adapt my wiring to it. When I stumbled on a GM truck site showing a newer model MAP sensor and what it looked like. After seing the picture I wondered what mine acutually looked like, so I took a closer look and found out it just popped out if the larger round bung. After looking closer at the new Dorman LS6 intake I noticed on top on the manifold in the back there was a small opening as well. GUESS WHAT the sensor itself fits like a glove into the hole and it even has a place to put a screw into it and hold it down. What do you know, things do work out for me sometimes

I guess that just leaves one question left, and that is when I put my Headers on without the egr ports. Do I just plug off the lg rubber hose that attaches to the system in pic # 5 up top?

You mean the AIR system? C5's don't have EGR.

The pics I saw look like the AIR system. Remove it and tune the code out if you get one

The hose coming from the front of the car is coming from the air pump. You can disconnect that hose and remove it or just leave it. You can remove the pump too if you really want to.

Ok, will do. I'll just remove everything. When I get my tune after I finish with the intake headers and vararam, I will have them remove the AIR and the F45 which I still have not been able to get rid of. Tried hanging up the sensors after removing them from shocks and didn't work. Tried putting in resistor and that didn't work. Now i'm talking with MR. Sam trying to trace the problem but probably will just have it deleted when tuned. Thanks for all the info Lionel and all the other fellows:-)

There is a small vacuum live that goes to the pump to control an output valve so make sure it gets plugged.
