Anyone purchased the new MGW round ****? I have the pistol grip style and I like it. However, it seems to me that while it helps me with 1-2 and 3-4 shifts, its harder for me to do the 2-3 shift. Just wanted to see the opinions on the new ****.
I have the new MGW Gripper **** and not only did it cure all the rattles and buzzes the Hurst was making it looks and feels marvelous. The only down side is I bought the triple chrome Gripper and every once in a while the sun will reflect off it's highly reflective area's and blind me. It's doesn't get TOO HOT to the touch either and I have a glass top here in St Louis.
It has to be the best $45 **** on the market. It's a solid well made piece.
I, too, recently purchased the MGW Gripper **** (chrome) and it is well worth it. It has reduced the buzzing and noise from the Hurst Shifter to almost nothing. I did like to stock shifter **** but the buzzing was driving me nuts and was making me second guess the decision to replace the factory shifting mechanism to the Hurst. Now, all is well.
I have a hurst as well. I bought both and ended up using the gripper ****.
Just felt more comfortable to me to use. I still however kept the pistol grip **** as well just in case I change my mind. At $45 it is like buy one get one free. High quality product for the price.
best $45 i've spent!!! Until I put it on, I had no idea HOW MUCH noise the stock one was making with the Hurst shifter. As others have reported, it doesn't end the rattling during acceleration, but it cuts it down 90-95%. During crusing, it's completely quiet.
I have the grey anodized Gripper (exact color of Z06 wheels). Bought it to eliminate the last little bit of buzzz from my Hurst, and it worked. It's a lovely ****, very comfortable and useful for hitting all gears. Highly recommended.
I and I suspect everyone else use the rubber insulator and the Hurst rattled and buzzed badly. I was ready to throw in the towel and re-install the OEM shifter. The MGW saved the day.
