Default Power braking or line locker? Best way to do a nice burnout?

I love doing burn outs, tires are cheap on CL

Anyone have a line locker just for doing street burnouts?

Is it better to just power brake and spin to win then replace the rear pads as needed :-)

I was looking at the Lingenfeilder locker made for vetts.

No need for a line lock-that is intended for drag racing applications typically with a high stall converter
Any C5 can do a burn out--
1st turn the traction Control OFF
Then do a power brake stand burn-out---

Line lock all the way and my car is an M6 and I don't even go to the track anymore. I made a big mistake once and did a clutch burnout I immediately ordered a line lock after I changed out that clutch. It can also be hard on the clutch packs in the diffy.

I used a Cartek unit: http://www.cartekracing.com/Products...s/LineLock.htm

Go with a line lock if you're doing it constantly. If you're having to use the brakes to hold the car then you're invariably dragging the rear brakes in the process. Locking the line pressure on the fronts only allows you to save the wear and tear on the rear brakes and more properly apply some entertaining wear and tear on your rear tires.

A bit pretentious to say tires are cheap----They are not---New tires can cost as much as $400 a tire on a Corvette---
Most people don't want to beat on their car as you do A simple power brake stand with the TC off will make most very happy--- I could care less how much $$ you have or if you don't care about beating on your car--it's yours----But you don't impress me as a person with much respect for the car-----
Install the line lock spend 2k on new tires and break your car ---
You already have a Corvette so why the need to show off even more with extreme burnouts ???

Look on craigslist in your area for used tires. Lots of snobs that need a perfect car unload them for less than 50 bucks a tire with over 50% of the tread left.

Burn out = beating on a car LOL

I do not have a lot of money but wanna have fun in life and not become to pent up, if you know what I mean Francis.

I did not get my corvette to show off brotha I got it to have fun and drive it like a race car.

actually the cars ECU will activate the Torque Management if the car is not moving but the rear tires are spinning if not tuned out, had this problem at the track every time i tried car just fell on its face like i never turned off TC, if more then 40% brakes are applied even with traction off it does it (03z) my tuner turned if off

I have a line lock installed 2nd gear burn outs are really smokey and fun

Most of your comments make no sense---A real racer is not impressed by doing burnouts as spinning the tires means you are leaving slower that others and not hooking up--If you want to constantly spin the tires you are not a racer--but a wanna be racer----Spinning your tirer means your car is NOT set up properly and you are only concerned about yes showing off---and NOT a serious racer---Sorry---
