I have a 2000 Convertible with sport seats. when I shut the car off and pulled the key the seat would go back all the way and when I got in the car using the memory button when I put the key in the seat would move to my preset location. it has stopped doing this and I cant find anything in my about how to get it working again, can any one help ?
Are you locking and unlocking the car with the key fob when you exit and enter the car? Have you checked the "easy entry" option. In my owners manual (2001) it is listed under Driver Information Center (DIC) Controls in the index in the back of the manual.
Thanks for the response, I checked this and I have the option selected but the seat still does not go back when I pull the key , anyone have any other thoughts.
Make sure you are on the correct memory for the fob you are using, 1 or 2, then go back into DIC and make sure the option is set to on with that fob number.

The seat in my 2004 has started not moving until I sit just right on it. I dis a search on this and found its a common problem I believe a cold solder joint on the motor. I have not done the fix yet. Try moving around ( shifting weight forward and back ) when the seat should be moving, you may have the same issue
The memory contacts in the seat motor can become gummed up and then the memory function starts doing uncommanded motion or does not move.
If the contacts are becoming gummed up, a way to diagnose is to run the seat full limit back and full limit forward five or six times. This MAY give temporary return to normal function.
The fix is to remove the seat, remove the motor and clean and re dielectric grease the contacts.
I've repaired mine by cleaning the potentiometer contact surfaces. The OP may want to ensure the wires are still good in the door accordian area. Lots of threads on doing all this......
