Default Blackwing question

Offered to help a buddy with a Blackwing install on his 2002 LS1 but having trouble. The Blackwing was shipped with a rubber type coupler attached to the top of the B/W itself and a powder blue silicone type coupler loose in the box. Neither seem to fit. The rubber one is too tight for the MAF housing and doesn't appear to be deep enough. The blue one is clearly too big in diameter even with the hose clamp around it. The one I installed on my 2001 LS1 a few months ago came with a single black silicone coupler (not rubber/not blue) that fit both the B/W and MAF housing perfectly. Suggestions please. Thanks.

Installed on my 2002 a few months ago. You have to remove the one on the blackwing and use the light blue one in it's place.

Thanks, Patches. The blue one seems awfully loose. Can actually "pinch" the excess before the hose clamp goes on. Just curious because this doesn't look like the same set-up I have.

You're right. Doesn't sound like the way mine fit. Can't check mine right now since it's at home. Maybe someone else will chime in here and enlighten us or time to call the vendor to verify it's the correct piece.

On our models, WE send a black coupler in it's seperate package with instructions on how it is applied. On the 01/02 03 cars, we remove the smaller coupler attached, which is for the 97-00 cars, to make it less confusing.

OK. Some vendors remove the small coupler before shipping for 01s and later, others don't. Some vendors substitute a blue coupler, others use black. Got it. Thanks.
