Default Hazard light hyper-flash

98 hatchback. Converted front and rear to LED's and installed harness(from a reputable) supplier. All signal lights work great. HOWEVER when I enact the Hazard (4 ways) all 4 corners go into hyper-flash. Contacted the supplier and the answer I got was "Must be the hazard switch is bad".
Being more mechanical than electrical, I really would appreciate any and all expertise with this problem.
Thanks to all.

The flasher in the hazard switch is still in play during hazard use and it doesn't like the reduced load which causes the hyperflash. There is no easy fix so I suggest you just live with it.

Hyper flash with Hazards might be a GOOD thing

Your "reputable" supplier may be so but he has no idea what he is talking about.

Like Lionelhutz said a Hyperflash harness only works to prevent fast flashing for the turn signals. You would have to add resistance in the circuit feeding the Hazards. That would be the Orange wire from Fuse 8 in this schematic. Would need to install it after the spice and just in the wire going to the Hazard switch.

PS: If you had installed the LEDs with resistors at each bulb you would not need a Hyperflash harness and the Hazards would work normally.

Won't work. The load has to be on the output of the flasher circuit, not the input. And any load connected to one of the 5 output wires is also in circuit during normal operation.

Load resistors SUCK. The get hot and melt stuff and have to be hacked into the wiring. Most people do a poor job installing them and the connection ends up being a weak spot in the harness prone to future failure. It's not helped by the suppliers providing those crappy quick install T splices with the resistors.

Yeah, I was stupid trying to respond before rushing out to my client.

Actually, i made my own hyper-flash bypass harness. Only saved me a few dollars, but I wanted to see if I could do it. When I bought my LEDs I wanted to eliminate that overheating issue and left out the resistors.

It worked and solved the hyper-flash. Or you could buy one of the harnesses some of the vendors sell.
