OK, been chasing down my poor ride quality for years! Switched to C6 Z06 shocks and C6 Z51 sways with my stock Z51 springs. Ride sucked. So went with Pfadt Featherlights. Ride still sucks. Even changed wheels from a 19/20 setup to an HRE 18/19 setup thinking the little taller tires would help.
Lifting the car to check for play in my wheels, can't feel any.
Can't see or feel any play anywhere in the ball joints or tie rods.
Have dealt with this for over 40K miles now. Now have about 73K miles on the car so just gonna start replacing suspension parts. Not like that is a bad thing. Starting with the hubs.
One thing I have noticed, getting some rub in the rear on the wheel well liner. Never had it before. Or that I noticed. I have been having a slight screeching type of noise coming from the rear of the car for a while now. On and off load. Can't figure it out. Not sure if it's the hubs, diff, or trans!!! I plan to start with the rear hubs and replace the fluid in both the trans and diff this week.
Gonna order the hubs today hopefully from Rock Auto as my local APS's have nothing in stock other than the economy brands. Napa does sell their brand which is the SKF's, not the HD's though.
So, Rock Auto has Timkin, Moog, and the SKF's for pretty much the same price. Not gonna track the car but am planning to finally install my heads/cam/headers soon. It's a daily driver and enjoy spirited driving. Why I'm not gonna break the bank and go with the SKF HDs.
Of the three mentioned, which should I order?
Get the Timkins. Here's why. (Seems like I've posted this pic 3 or 4 times this past week).
Yeah, I saw it on another thread. Have not seen if the Moog's and SKF's are as well. We already know the SKF X-Trackers are the kings. Curious what's next in line. Or at least feedback on the other two.
Hubs have zero to do with ride quality, springs, shock valving and bars have everything to do with ride quality.
That is if you don't have any binding parts.
I have run a few different hub brands on track, the MOOG hold up the best. I Haven't run the SKF, I buy the O'reilly best in store brand with the 3 year warranty(most are MOOG), 1 front and 1 rear, swap as needed.

Please let us know what you do eventually settle on -
Ride quality, as stated, above won't come from hubs - shocks, sways, springs - I run C6 Z51 Sways, C5 Z06 Springs and Koni FSD shocks = Best freaking ride ever and handling is extremely awesome -
Thanks,Matt

I have C6 Z51 sway and Pfadt Featherlite coilovers.
Well, I ordered the C6 Z51 sway and C6 Z06 shocks like so many run. Ran those with the stock C5 Z51 springs but my ride still sucked. So switched out the springs and shocks for coilovers.
