Had the belt replaced about two weeks ago (it is not s Gatorback) How do I got about troubleshooting it if it is the tension pulley?
Did you do the belt?is the belt in the rite grooves?did you try the water trick?i have seen new belt make noise.Did it do it before the new belt?did you change the AC belt?it also has a tentioner.sorry for so many ques.just trying to narrow it down.
Valvoline put the belt on for me, so I'm assuming they did it correctly. It did make the noise before the new belt, was told to change belt to eliminate the noise. Noise still there, sometimes goes away randomly. I sprayed the water on the belt and the sound was gone for 15s or so and came back as you can see in the video.
If the pully is clean I'm thinking it's the bearing in the tensioner.try a little cleaner on that pully, and wipe the belt down good, that way you not getting that bearing wet.see if that helps.if not I'd say it's the bearing.the pully can look clean but still have some residue on it.
did you replace both belts? take one off to determine which one is making the noise
spray a lil wd40 on tensioner pivot to see if it quiets down.
does the harmonic ballancer pulley look to be in alignment with the others?
is it wobbling while engine running?
had one separate on me and it moved so far forward it was touching steering rack
