On a 2001 C5 when you hold down the active handling button for approx 5 seconds the Drvivers Information Center displays the Competition Mode. If you push the active handling button again the systems goes back into the normal active handling mode. The question is - when the D I C says competion Mode does reseting the D I C message reset the system or does the Active Handling button reset the system. I have asked service managers at 4 different dealers and got 2 different answers. I also called GM Assistance and they were comletely confused. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.
:yesnod: This is true, it only resets the DIC message, not the function. How unfortunate some dealers don't even know who to ask at the factory (or don't care about putting out accurate information).

As other people have indicated there is only 2 ways to leave competiton mode. Push the active handling button again or shut down the car. Reset or any other DIC button won't change your setting.
If you prefer to run in Competition Mode without having to push and hold the button every time, check out our TracActive Controller which does it for you automaticaly!
Hopefully the C6 will start up in competition mode, that is with traction control OFF. Too often I don't bother to turn off traction control and it cuts in around the same time active handling II cuts in. The two systems working can do some strange things when taking a curve quickly. To my way of thinking traction control should only be used when driving in slippery conditions.

I just installed the TracActive Controller last weekend and its great. It has three modes of operation. You can program it for any of the three at anytime. When I go out to the track it will be OFF for the whole day. :D
