Default Lowering my suspension

So I'm wanting to lower my c5 on stock bolts. I just don't have any jacks at the moment to do it, and my work schedule is pretty hectic (7 days). I saw pep boys does lowering, I just wanted some feedback on if they're the right people to do it or not, or if I could take it to any other mechanics. Thanks.

I've never known Pep Boys to do that kind of work, but I suppose it's possible that they might have a tech that's familiar with Corvettes. I do think they sell "lowering kits" for the ricers, though.

Personally I wouldn't trust Pep Boys to do anything to my C5 . But if you want to give them a try print this out and give it to them. It's what I used and worked out perfect.

Actually that's the wrong way to do it. If you do it as described in that link you'll mess up the corner weights and it will take a long time to settle out.

Here's a link to the step by step as to how to do it right and why.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1576940245

It's important to turn the screws in equal full turn increments in the front so that the pads are returned to the same place. This will minimize the amount of settling that is required and it will preserve the corner weight from the factory that is actually pretty good.

Same thing for the back turn the rear bolts in equal increments from side to side. This will lower the car equally and preserve proper corner weights.

If you just go in there and start turning bolts you can end up with a car that corners differently in each direction, with oversteer going one way and understeer going the other way. If you mess it up the only way to fix it is to take it to a shop that has a set of scales and will properly corner weight the car.

I don't think I'd be going to Pep Boys for this kind of setup work. You're more likely to get someone who will just start turning bolts and doesn't know any better. It'll be lower and look good, but there's no chance it will be done properly.

You don't have any profile info so we don't know where you are located, but there are good racing shops that will lower and cornerweight your car and do it right for not to much money. I'd be looking at one of them before I'd go to Pep Boys.
