Looks like with 3.42's top speed in 3rd is 116mph at 6500rpm and 151mph in 4th gear.
With 4.10's 3rd is not usable because it tops out at 97.

Can I assume 4th gear is a given...because most people trap higher than 116?

and here is a crazy question..
What is the fast conceivable ET with the lowest trap speed?

I'm hitting the traps in 3rd.

Of course, my rev limiter is set higher. :D

I'm going to try 4th just to see what the results are.

With the car all stock, 3rd gear at 107. With the Halltech air cleaner and drag radials, 4th gear at 117.

On the bottle I am in 4th. N/A I am at the top of 3rd. My top speed in 4th is 140, how did you get yours higher?

I am using the gear calculator. Using stock 275/40/18's you get 151. If you are running 17" Drag radials you will be slower..

I am going 128 in the traps with 3.42s in 4th. I am going to 3.90s because that is about the tallest gear I can run and still go through the traps in 4th.

128mph with a 3.42 is about 5500 rpm
128mph with a 3.90 is about 6300 rpm
128mph with a 4.10 is about 6600 rpm

These are all had in 4th gear. Granted the 4.10's are just about maxed out even with a 6800 rev limter. That is very close.

I agree.. the 3.90 for you is a better choice. Because a 6600 rpm can get you to 134mph...in 4th...

When I run, I hit the rev limiter just before I cross the traps (107 mph). I usually shift into 4th just so I don't hit the limiter. I'm running stock tires sizes.

I too hit the limiter in the top of third when I am at Houston Raceway Park at 108-109. However with the slightly higher altitude and higher temps at Texas Motorplex I get about 104.

I shift into fourth just before the traps with my shift light set at 6500 rpm.

This is on 25.6" tall tires. (1" shorter than stock)

108 mph in 4th. Almost stock M6 hardtop apart from exhaust and HaltTec tric intake (and crappy 2.2x 60 footers).

I went through in 4th at 112 with just a vortex and cat back.
