Default antifreeze smell

My c5 is getting an antifreeze smell when I'm driving and the temp gets between 220-230 and then dips slightly under 220 when the fans kick on it have checked under the car and there seems to be no leaks but it's a strong smell that comes from it when you drive.any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

Coolant tank leaking? It just starts as a little around the connections and vanishes underneath the tank or evaporates. Don't bother trying to fix the tank just buy a new one. They are cheap (comparatively).

There is a leak somewhere. Could be near the firewall where the hose/s connect to the heater core.
Try this - take a drive after dark for about 2 miles. Bring it home and leave the engine running; pop the hood and get a flash light and start looking for drips, or steam, etc.

First try changing the coolant cap. It worked on my car and it's way easier and cheaper. No leaks, no smell. Amazon = $10.00
