I will start this with the detail leading up to now:
I drove home from work on Saturday 25 miles, turned the final corner to drop off my car pooler and got to the stop sign and the car died . it took 2 attempts to get it started again.
I did not drive it yesterday. This morning I head over to his house and it took 3 attempts to get the car started, it did not turn over slowly, it just did not fire. Then on the third attempt it started.
I helped him install a garage door opener, then when I went to leave an hour later it took 4 times to get it started, same symptoms and during one of the attempts it shows low voltage.
I came home and shut it off, went to start it again and the dash is blank all gauges at 0 and it starts with the dash completely like it is off. It is not running well however.
I shut it off and turned the key to run the dash went through the normal routine then all gauges went to 0 and I could see some of the warning lights really dim. I shut the key off and it says LOW VOLTAGE.
So I went to Costco and bought a new battery.
Even with the new battery I have the same symptoms, and I have no idea what is going on.
I shut the key off and checked the battery 12.7V.
Has anyone run into this issue?

You should check the connections at the starter and battery (clean and tight at both ends) before you tear into the ignition switch. There are also tests for the switch which should be done before replacing or attempting repair. Read post #3 and pull the codes.

The starter turns every time I turn the key and the battery is brand new.
After reading most of the ignition switch repair thread, the symptoms mimic a high resistance scenario. I am going to check out the switch tomorrow and see what I find.
Didn't finish reading all of the above but I did have the BCM repaired / replaced? about 1 year ago. Seemed like an honest repair shop in Frederick, Md. My good mechanic contact who knew a good contact, etc. Feel like I'd trust them to try again- Clearview Car Care, So. Wiser, Frederick, Md..
Interesting you say the BCM module since that is what he said as well- did something about it- and maybe an issue again
