Default Muffler removal....

Quick question, Am I correct in understanding that using a lift, I can easily remove just the mufflers on my C5?

I need to fill some holes on the exhaust tips where someone got creative on installing some chrome tips.
I admit, am the weird one that hates the look of tips if the the car was not born that way

Thanks!!! Pete

Your and my timing must be aligned w/ the stars. I just remove one of mine (muffler only) using just a floor jack and jack stands. Take your time and don't forget the jack stands.

Your timings must be aligned with mine since I was going to open this thread myself!

You'll need to get the bottom of the rear fascia quite high to remove the stock fatback intact. Be very careful - safety first, last and always.

Wow, safety first... and that looks scary to me! Looks like she wants to roll.

Remember to remove the sway bar before removing the mufflers.

when I removed my stock titanium exhaust I put my car on my open car hauler with the rear wheels a few inches from the end of it (rear of the car hanging off the trailer) strapped down the front jacked up and put some stands under the rear gave me more then enough room to remove it

With a lift, you really shouldn't have any problems removing the mufflers.
